Hip-hop group Mecca 2 Medina today welcomed SkyBorn Manager Isha D.Maison (Daniella Maison) as caretaker manager. Masters graduate Maison, whose extraordinary business savvy has seen soul artist Khaleel Muhammad rise to the UK’s number 1 solo Muslim artist and managed PR for prolific football manager Morell Maison during his illustrious career at Kettering FC will work with the band for a temporary period during 2008. Maison stated ‘I’ve been an admirer of M2M’s work for many years now. AOH:2 delayed release
SkyBorn Productions has just announced that due to unforeseen difficulties ‘The Adventures of Hakim:2’ will not be released until late summer 2008. Isha D. Maison commented, “A project of this size always encounters difficulties, it’s just that we have ran into a few more that we had anticipated!” Boasting a cast of celebrity voice-overs such as Mecca2Medina, Brother Dash 786 and others, the AOH:2 is the much anticipated follow up to the 1999 release of the same name. The mastermind behind the AOH, Khaleel Muhammad said, “I’d like to offer my sincere apologies to all our supporters who have patiently waited for its release, but I promise, insha’Allah, that when it does hit the shops and internet sites it will be well worth the wait – watch this space!”

Khaleel Muhammad Leaves Meem
In an unexpected development Nasheed artist Khaleel Muhammad has announced that as of April 2008 he is no longer a recording artist on the Meem label. Once the home to nasheed artists such as Shaam, Aa Shiq Al Rasul and 786, Meem was a pioneer in the growing nasheed industry in the early 2000’s.
“Meem was an oasis in the wilderness especially in the early years as the industry tried to define itself…” commented Khaleel “…the move was mutual and I wish Meem a brilliant future.” What next for Khaleel who has recently appeared on the front cover of Emel and was a nominee in the Muslim News awards for Excellence for Arts? “Khaleel is bursting with ideas and has a host of projects he wishes to develop...’ said SkyBorn manager Isha D. Maison. “The Adventures of Hakim:2 is still in ‘development hell’ but Khaleel is busy working on his third and best album – DEEN STREET!”

The Muslim News Awards for Excellence 2008

Khaleel Muhammad has been shortlisted for the Muslim News Awards for Excellence. Presentation of the awards will be held on 25th March 2008, at the Eighth Muslim News Awards Gala Dinner.
The aim of these awards is to recognise and celebrate the unsung heroes and heroines of the Muslim community, who are future role models.
The venue will be a central London hotel and the event will be attended by a VIP and guests from the worlds of public service, business, sport and the arts as well as senior officials from all the UK political parties. In the previous years, the guests of honour have included Tony Blair, The Prince of Wales and Gordon Brown.
Readers of The Muslim News were invited to nominate individuals and organisations who have demonstrated excellence in fourteen different fields. These range from science and engineering to community development and the arts. An independent panel of seven judges has reviewed the nominations and produced a shortlist and the awards will be presented at the gala evening.
Let's make dua that Khaleel is successful in his nomination!

SkyBorn Manager Isha D. Maison now has two poems online. Both featured on Poetry.com. They represent just the tip of a very deep ice burge of talent.

Khaleel and the MKMA at the World Picnic
Khaleel and his band performed a number of live songs at the Milton Keynes World Picnic day. Headlining over a 100 local acts, Khaleel performance was received with great excitement as he performed songs from his latest album 'Dhikr of Life.
Speaking about the event, Craig McLeish, festival co-ordinator, said: “Milton Keynes has amazingly talented performers from different countries and cultures. The World Picnic is about sharing these amazing sounds and offering something new for music lovers in Milton Keynes."
Also in attendance was the Milton Keynes Muslim Association (MKMA) who sponsored Khaleel’s performance. “I am very honoured to be supported the MKMA and would particularly like to thank Mohamed Suleman for his enthusiasm and positivity.’ commented Khaleel.

ISLAMOPHOBIA AWARDS 2006
The annual Islamophobia Awards 2006 took place at the Islamic Centre of England and hosted by the Islamic Human Rights Commission. The evening included a fund raising auction mediated by Islam Channel presenter Yvonne Ridley. 
The auction of Islamic artifacts and jewelry raised over 20,000. Performing on the night was traditional nasheed singers Noor Al Mostapha and hip hop rappers Blakstone.
He event marked Khaleel’s second attendance which also follows his nomination for the 8th and final volume of the "British Muslims Expectations of the Government". Khaleel was also accompanied on stage by little Fatimah who helped sing a few songs and brightened the evening with her warm and sunny smile!

KHALEEL AT THE GLOBAL PEACE AND UNITY EVENT 2006 
Khaleel, the SkyBorn team and Meem (www.nasheeds.com) were pleased to attend this years Global Peace and Unity event at the London Excel Centre, which was bustling to the brim with an estimated 40,000 people. Early in the day Khaleel performed on stage number 2 to an audience of a thousand plus people. His a capella rendition of ‘Follow Muhammad’ (s) was simultaneously broadcast live on Islam Channel and was watched by thousands across the globe. “It was almost a last minute thing to jump on stage at the GPU,” confessed Khaleel “I had no idea what to expect and didn’t realize it was being broadcast. At the school I work, I had Muslim as well non-Muslim as kids, telling me they had seen the broadcast! Now that’s the power of television! While back stage it was a real pleasure to meet Dr Bilal Phillips for the first time. Soon after I chilled out at the Meem / www.nasheeds.com booth and greeted hundreds of supporters and friends. It was am amazing two-day event. I look forward to next year!”
Later in the evening Khaleel was again invited to perform but this time on the main stage attended by over 20,000 people. “It was by far the largest audience I have ever performed for. This place was so huge I couldn’t even see the back of the hall!”
Also in attendance (amongst others) was word-spoken poet Brother Dash, Seven8Six, Zain Bhikha, Dawud Wharnsby Ali, Yusuf Islam and George Galloway.
SkyBorn would like to thank Islam Channel CEO Mohamed Ali, brother Sajid and all the Islam Channel staff who made put in an incredible effort to create such an unforgettable and historical event.

For the third time in two years Khaleel has been invited to perform in the German town of Düsseldorf at the Ramadanfest. Also appearing on the night were German group CoTu (companions OF true unity), Hassan Dursun, Rachid Ibrahim, Baschschar and international band Outlandish!

"Wow is all I can say about the Muslims of Düsseldorf. Its rare that I feel such a powerful wave of emotion coming from and audiance and I certainly felt it then! said Khaleel. "Each time I come to the city the audiences just keeps getting bigger and bigger! I think its a healthy sign that the Germans are creating a rich and diverse and interesting culture of the arts. "
